H&M x Maison Martin Margiela

We were lucky enough to be invited by Vanessa from Edelweiss magazine to a presale of the H&M x Maison Martin Margiela collection. The collaboration will hit the stores (rue du Marché 40, Geneva & rue du Pont 16, Lausanne)
tomorrow so get ready early if you want some pieces ! We also met Léa from the blog Fashion & Chocolat
who went to the event with the talented Philippe Girard. Of course, during the sale, everyone was rushing
towards his/her favorite pieces and we managed to get the oversized candy clutch bag wrapper in pink,
such a statement piece ! The collaboration's concept is just amazing : a re-edition of the main pieces and
accessories created during the past, presented with a label pointing out which collection it comes from. Genius.
Margiela is seen as the most mysterious designer from our time. His designs don't have a label,
as well as the collections don't have names, just a number between 0 and 23.
The young designer graduated from Antwerp 's Royal Academy of Arts and quickly became an assistant to Jean-Paul Gaultier. In 1988, he founded his maison de couture in Paris. His work consists in deconstructive clothes and the use of unlikely materials. Margiela designs with an avant-garde point of view rather than executing fashion pieces that please
the customer's habits. He became known for his iconoclastic methods and was hired in 1997 by Hermes
to design the womenswear collections.
The event was really cool and well organised, with champagne and pretty food.
The PR team did an amazing job and the H&M staff was so kind, they did everything to help us
feel comfortable. We are really grateful to be a part of it.
