La Redoute showroom S/S 14

Dear Stradi Girls and Boys !

Yesterday we went to MyPlayground, in Villa Marie-Antoinette (Lausanne), that displayed the La Redoute showroom. We had the chance to take a look at the S/S14 and we want to share it with you !

Last year, La Redoute launched the brand MADEMOISELLE R for the young women that love vintage and glam spirit. For the COSY CANDEUR trend, La Redoute offers you some of Mademoiselle R clothes, Laura Clément is also a part of it and of course - our beloved - SOFTGREY line. Cosy Candeur got that romantic touch with soft and sweet colors (we spotted a "vert d'eau" leather perfecto that we ABSOLUTELY want !), a lot of lace and english embroidery. The colors are purified - with beige, soft blue jeans - but Soft Grey put a little bit of acid yellow in it and we gotta admit, it's PERFECT ! We noticed sequin and silver too. Clothes are mostly made of silk and cotton.

The second trend is called URBAN TROPIQUE, inspired by vegetation, ethnic/geometric pattern. Green, warm yellow and blue are the main colors but for once, black is a part of the trend even if it's a s/s line, we love the fact that dark colors are not ONLY okay to wear in winter. If you'll go to Brazil (of course not to look at the football game but mostly to runway your amazing figure by the beach), you definitely need to buy some pieces of this collection !

La Redoute offers you a selection of 4 talented designers. We had a crush for GAT RIMON and PAUL AND JOE SISTER but, of course, we couldn't take our eyes off of CEDRIC CHARLIER and DELPHINE MANIVET collections.

We wanted to thank a LOT MyPlayground's crew and La Redoute for welcoming us during this showroom. It was great ! We loved the "petits fours", catered by Le Fraisier. We hope that it will inspire you for this coming season and don't forget to take a look at La Redoute website !

The Genius Files

As a child, you first discover the world with your eyes. Your world is created by everything we see. I've always been obsessed with pictures. Of course, as a big reader, I'm in love with words, but with pictures, you can get it instantly. Also, I am a magazine addict and started to pile them up in my room since it began to be too much, so I decided to make some collages. I have dozens of notebooks full of style clippings and moodboards.

A few years ago, I discovered that designer Anna Sui also keeps inspiration collages that she named The Genius Files. Obviously, I'm crazy about the name :) If you like magazines and pictures, I could only recommend to try it. You'll learn a lot about patience, and also looking at these pictures constantly will only help you learn about what you see. It's like repeating a vocabulary, except it's way more fun ! I love to create designers pages because you begin to understand more about their approach and their global message. I also like to do style (the crafty version of Polyvore, right?) and design/decor stuff, but what I really, really love to put together inspiration mix that will remind me of a certain feeling or a certain moment of life. You'll find interesting pictures in art magazines, like a Basquiat drawing and you'll maybe find it hard not to glue right away, but wait to find the perfect pictures to piece together to make your collage really fresh.

I would LOVE to see Sui's Genius Files and yours ! That's the kind of art I'm most fond of on Tumblr, there are a lot of Dada inspired pieces but with a modern twist that makes it all really amazing. Feel free to submit a link where to find your collages, we will definitely take a look !

Downtown Cool

Hello guys ! Today I'm sharing an outfit we shot recently in our neighborhood. So many of these wooden palletts were lined up and shaking under the wind ! It's a great look in my opinion because it's kind of effortless and relaxed, yet still very strong, which I really love.

I'm wearing Autumn's latest coat : it comes from Tally Weijl and it was on a massive sale ! It's two-toned : gray tweed and leather sleeves and details. We both really love it because of its downtown cool vibe. Black beanie, light gray loose sweater, black tank top are from Primark, as well as these cool black ankle boots in suede and embellished on the back with silver spikes. You may have noticed my awesome little black bag with two vertical zips. It comes from Persun and I'm so amazed by the quality of it, really, really cool ! The washed out blue jeans are from C&A !

PS : I upgraded the look of the casual bag with a gray fox tail from Portobello Market ;)
